Two Old Friends

Leaves bear mark of the changing of season
Soon to be crushed under foot, under paw.

Two old friends quite oppositely natured,
Neither too quickened to point out a flaw.

The law of nature
is strongly opposed-
Leaves engaging in war with themselves.

Two old friends,
Seldom do they see
That the veins within,
Like the vines without,
Carry only withered fruit,
Ever-releasing root.

Winter buries all with a glaze.
Forgotten as debris the days.
They came to form some inner ways.
They left, the focus now in haze...

Two old friends
Two old friends

Open Your Eyes (by Mike Barry)

Well I heard some people talking
about a person they all knew
Lies came out like ammunition
how could they be so bold?

Open your eyes
let in a little sense
why do you always have to be so cold?

Things didn't go the way you planned them to
had a fight with Ma
Always want the easy solution
you don't even want to try

Well I heard some people cuttin' down
a person they all knew
The lies came out like ammunition
how could they be so cold?

Open your eyes
let in a little sense
why do you always have to be so bad?

Open up your eyes
let in a little love
why stab the one that you called friend?

I Never Knew

I never knew what a
beautiful soul you had
I never thought that a
girl like you could be like that

I guess you knew
by the look in my eyes
that I had left your side

Had run out on you
when you needed love,
needed support more than anything in the world

Can't say I miss you,
we were never that close
but something inside of you
touched me forever

Though I write this
in some kind of mock sadness
for something I say
that was never really there

One thing I know that I wish
I could tell you
is that I'm sorry
that I'm sorry

Corporate Man

I guess I'm a corporate man
I try to do things the best that I can
I try to keep my shirt clean
I try to keep my nose brown...

I wear a pretty suit to work
I try to keep my tie straight
I try to keep my shoes shined
I try to kiss up at the best of times...

And all of the strangest things seem to happen at once!
A word here, a word there, and its starting to stink
The boss is staring at me, unvoiced accusations fly
I feel the noose is tightening, the slip knot growing snug
The secretary's secret laughter, the jackals ring the alarm
vultures circling for their victim, paranoia thickens the air
The horror of the inhumanity, my mind begins to break!

I guess I'm a corporate man
I try to keep my teeth white
I try to have the warmest of smiles
Even when I stab right through the heart!

People Living Their Lives as Darts (words by Evan Harrington)

People living their lives as darts
The bullseyes which are the tear pour
Of the eyes that suit them best-
So many in each crowd to chose from.

On the video screen display,
There's a PacMan gobbling artfully
And his bullseye
is the tearpore of the millions

Their tears pour to the sound
Of pockets jingling, chiming:
"God Bless Americaaarghh!"

His bullseye was the tear poor
             And the torn poor

But now his clothing is
is so revealing!
His Hymns need thorough mending!
Need stiching to His pink flesh!

People living their knives as darts
Displaying effective talent
Displaying deceptive talent
Displaying defective talent

Home Isn't Home Music Mike Barry, words and music Chris Vaisvil

The cold nights I spend
Sitting by the fireside
Trying to decide
My feelings I can't hide

Without your love
I'm so alone, so damn lost
Home isn't home
Without you love,I'm so alone
Home just isn't home

It isn't fair
It isn't fair
What I do to myself

I don't care
I don't care
I can't think of anything else

The summer passed too quickly
I couldn't believe our love could be spent
I never dreamed there would be a night
Without you with me

Without your love, I'm so alone
So damn lost, Home isn't home
Without your love, I'm so alone
Home just isn't home

I Have Seen Him

I have seen Him
I have Seen Him there
Lying down
Waiting for one of you to care!

On the lake front
On the Golden Mile
There are people
Who won't invite me for a while.

The sailboats on the lake
Creat impressonistic pictures
Are the people there to celebrate
Or do they just wander?

I have seen Him
I have seen Him there
Down on Wells street
Waiting for one of you to care!

What Does

What does America stand for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?
What is America here for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?

Once upon a time I guess there was an
Idealistic dream for us
Something we all
Really wanted to be

What does America dream for?
Do you know, can you see it in their eyes?
What are Americans hoping for?
Do you know, what is the reason or the rhyme?

And it seems were bent on turning back the clock
Trying to squeeze out the very last drop
Hand me the money
Don't look back and don't stop

What would Americans fight for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?
What would Americans kill for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?

I think the cause for all this mystery
Is something we dare not look up and see
Hold up a mirror
And we would see ourselves embroiled in greed

And it seems were bent on turning back the clock
Trying to squeeze out the very last drop
Hand me the money
Don't look back and don't stop

What does America stand for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?
What is America here for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?
What does America dream for?
Do you know, can you see it in their eyes?
What are Americans hoping for?
Do you know, what is the reason or the rhyme?
What would Americans fight for?
Do you know, do you know, do you know?
What would Americans kill...

Where Is (starlight)

Where is starlight?
Where is God's light?
Where is freedom?
Where is my home?

Where no one will begrudge what I have
Where no one will hate what I am
And you will be able to see
What I really am...

In the city
Street lights replace
The stars at night
Where is starlight?

I can feel how lost you are
Sheer size belittles me
How small can one be
In the world.

I Don't Want to Hear It

Making up your lies
Thinking up your lines
Thinking of yourself
Thinking of no one else

Oh no! I don't want to hear it now (x3)

Thinking of those things
For your petty scemes
Gotta make it work
Really got to make it hurt!

Oh No! I don't want to hear it now (x2)
I will have no part of your self-destruction
A fool's pleasure turns to fire
A lie will always find the liar

Your thinking of your little friends
The ones you can manipulate, masturbate

Oh no! I don't want to hear it now (x3)

Oh no! I don't want to hear it now
Oh No! I don't want to touch
I will not kiss the Beast

A fool's pleasure turns to fire
A lie will always find the liar

Time Has

Time has brought me here
to say the words that I say
more than ever I have to say what I feel

On the dusty road
the grand parade moves on
morning's light has yet its place to be found

And at night the stars burn a hole in my mind
realizing I have not the time
to feel
what I feel

On waking my thoughts have changed
so strange I feel the change
keeping perspective in life is sometimes hard to do

Listening to people who say
that they are ones who are real
sometimes I feel I have not a will of my own

And at night the thoughts burn a hole in my mind
realizing I have not the mind
to feel
how I feel

What can I say that is real
what can I claim as me
when all my thoughts are distorted by those that I hear

My feelings are lost in a maze
in conflicts in differing ways
all of my feelings are torn up and destroyed inside

At night I kneel and pour out my mind
realizing that all of the time
I know
what is real

The Man

I gotta dig out the lyrics....
they are somewhere

Sadie

Sometimes I feel
There's a rhyming with Sadie.
Sadie has laces
Which border her lady
And Sadie has cotton curls.

Sadie has a pull-string
Chipped button nose;
Mud water from a bottle,
Dripped from top to toes
By finely cultured girls.

She's never had it better-
Her brother's off to war.

Somethimes I think
There's a danger in Sadie.
Sadie fooled a nation,
Whose borders sadly fading
Unlaced by the world.

She's never had it better-
My brother comes to say,
"Can Sadie come out to play?"

Don't You Cry (1997 recording)

There's no thought left you now
Oh baby don't you cry
There's no place left you now
Oh baby don't you cry
Don't you cry

They have no thought for you now
They never even tried
They left no place for you now
And won't even try
Oh don't you cry, cry

So many people try to their way
And this world is getting worse everyday
There's hardly anyone left to give you a hand

There's no heart left you now
It had no place to hide
There's no heart left inside
They took it with your pride

Oh don't you cry, cry

So many people climbing up on each other
Then they don't even like what they find
So many people find themselves empty inside!

There's no heart left you now
It had no place to hide
There's no heart left inside
They took it with your pride

Don't you cry!

3 O'Clock

Its 3 O'clock and I'd like to sleep if I could...
My heart is hungry for her
My heart is hungry for her

And So, here is the city
And here is my despair

As I walk amoung the shadows
Of the men who came before

Change is Time
And Time is Change
Unmovable is Time

Jack Adam and Jill Eve (words by Evan Harrington)

If the baby falls
The crib shall age empty

all of the earth
which ever lived
creation everyday
if the baby falls
it would leave the crib quite solo

The sources who join to nurture cries and giggles
Won't change diapers anymore
If our baby falls

Why they prophesy
I'll never understand
For they diapered the world
And they filled it self full

Fufilling their prophesies
Of a poor dead planet
If their baby falls

Screaming out for the right to life
They'll never abort their baby

Till the baby falls
Then the crib shall fade
So Humpty Dumpty
With Jack and Jill
And their baby
